The Role

Reports to: Chief Scientific Officer

Location: London, UK 

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Production AI to join our team. As the Head of Production AI, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of the core AI systems within the production system to meet the security and performance requirements of the business.

How you can make an impact 

• Lead the development and maintenance of the core production AI algorithms to meet the business goals, primarily the detection and mitigation of biometric threats, including presentation and injection attacks, whilst ensuring that algorithms are fair, robust and explainable.
• Lead the team to ensure that all members are motivated and supported, creating an environment where engineers thrive
• Develop and operate efficient processes around data pipelining, training, algorithm optimisation and evaluation
• Oversee the development of new algorithms where required, and drive algorithmic improvements where required
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of emerging biometric threat landscapes
• Work closely with the Head of Biometric Platform and the Product team to ensure that the algorithm development is aligned with our product requirements and strategic objectives 
• Work closely with the Biometric Operations team to ensure that algorithms can be deployed in an efficient and effective manner
• Work closely with other teams within iProov developing AI, such as the Research and Biometric Platform teams, to make available, where appropriate, automation systems for data pipelining, training and model evaluation
• Work closely with MLI team to improve efficiency through automation 
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including academic researchers and industry experts, to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI and AI development and automation

What we would like to see for you 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in ML, AI, Computer Science or related field
• At least 4 years of experience in AI
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team of AI engineers 
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective cutting edge AI systems
• Strong awareness of state of the art AI and developments in the field
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++ or Java
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or Keras
