On behalf of our client — a dynamic and rapidly scaling accounting firm that specialises in supporting venture-backed tech startups — we are recruiting for a newly created leadership role: Head of US Accounting & Tax Services.

As their portfolio of US-focused clients continues to grow, the firm is investing in senior talent to lead and evolve its US accounting and compliance offering. This is a rare opportunity to join a modern, forward-thinking business at a pivotal moment — taking full ownership of a high-impact function with strong foundations and even greater potential.

The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in US financial operations, strong leadership skills, and a passion for working with startups. They’ll work closely with the UK-based leadership team to shape cross-border service delivery, build scalable processes, and develop a high-performing US-focused team.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• CPA-qualified (or equivalent)
• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior US accounting or finance role
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, federal and state tax compliance, US payroll and sales tax across multiple states
• Ideally some experience working with US tech startups and a familiarity with cloud-based tools like Xero
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead teams, and drive operational change
