Job Description - Industrial Disease Solicitor

Our client, a leading UK law firm with 200 years of history are seeking to appoint an experienced Industrial disease legal professional. A firm built on reputation and specialising in all areas including Deafness, Vibration, Skin Disease, Respiratory Illnesses and Asbestos claims, they are proud to be recognised as one of the UKs top legal practices. With an increasing demand for their services, you will be instrumental in managing a caseload of pre and post litigated claims and be fully supported by an experienced administration team.

Job title: Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Litigation Executive - non-qualified

Work Location: Remote. May be required at times to visit and work at other locations when considered necessary for the proper performance of duties.

Role Summary:

The primary role as a (Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Litigation Executive) at the firm is to represent and defend client’s legal interests and provide specialist advice in the area of Industrial Disease. This will include (but will not be limited to) the main responsibilities given below.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload made up of both pre and post litigated claims
  • Deals with and assists on more complex and higher value cases
  • Correspond with clients, insurers and other solicitors and liaise with Counsel and experts where appropriate
  • Analyse evidence and set case strategies encompassing both technical and commercial considerations and advise clients accordingly
  • Provide a timely, professional and high quality service to clients in the management of a high volume caseload
  • Where necessary interview witnesses and prepare witness statements
  • Attend external meetings/hearings/appointments as required by the business

Client Relations:

  • Provide a high-quality legal service to all clients
  • Manage client expectations
  • Develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of
  • other professionals
  • Receive requests for legal advice from current and potential clients.
  • Establish what needs to be done to solve a client’s problems
  • Offering advice on the law, legal procedures and a wide range of associated issues
  • Attend and represent at client meetings
  • Research documents and case history to ensure accuracy of advice and procedures
  • Represent clients in Courts where required
