Who are we looking for?
This is a field‑based role that combines hands‑on Retail Fixture Installation duties with day‑to‑day leadership of a small team of field engineers. This role is based in North London / East of England with regular commuting into London being essential. This role also requires some nationwide travel.
This position is ideal someone with prior experience, or looking to step into people management while staying active in installing fixtures in stores. As Field Team Manager you'll oversee day‑to‑day field activity remotely, supported by planned store time for audits, mentoring and performance reviews. Working closely with the Programme Manager, they will help ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across the field team.
What you will do:
Core RSE responsibilities:
Deliver planned maintenance, support, and installation works across allocated retail locations
Review weekly schedule for route planning efficiencies
Updating all systems required for the project
Complete detailed, timely and accurate site compliance audits
Maintain the company vehicle, completing all vehicle checks
Building and maintaining positive relationships internally and externally
Acting as an ambassador for and proactively promoting the business
Maintain high standards of workmanship, reporting, and client interaction
Field management responsibilities:
Lead, motivate and inspire team member performance, engagement and development
Coach, develop and train our teams on installation, maintenance and compliance H&S training
Act as the first point of escalation for operational and people-related issues
Conduct planned site visits for quality audits, mentoring, and performance reviews
Carry out regular wellbeing check-ins with all line reports
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
Act as a conduit between field engineers and office-based teams
Report risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to the Program Manager
Work closely with the Program Manager to support client delivery and planning
Build strong internal relationships and consistently role model company values
What you will need:
Full UK driving license (minimum two years’ experience, no more than 6 points for insurance purposes)
Proven experience working as a field engineer in a retail installation or maintenance environment would be desirable
Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting field-based teams
Ability to balance hands-on operational delivery with people management responsibilities
Strong organisational and planning skills
Confident communicator, comfortable coaching and giving feedback
Strong problem-solving skills and calm decision-making under pressure
A proactive, supportive approach to team leadership and wellbeing
