Retail Technical Manager

The company
Nigel Wright are pleased to be working with a privately owned food manufacturing business based in Leicestershire. An international organisation, that is experiencing considerable growth - they are looking for a Retail Technical Manager to join the team.

The role
This role is pivotal in connecting UK retailers with their network of manufacturing sites across Europe. You’ll be the key point of contact for technical standards, product specifications, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that each retailer’s unique requirements are met with precision and consistency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as the technical bridge between UK retailers and manufacturing sites.
• Educate and influence internal and external stakeholders on retailer specific standards.
• Support and upskill local technical teams across a growing number of manufacturing sites.
• Manage and oversee product specifications in collaboration with the technical team.
• Travel across the UK and Europe - usually once a month depending on requirements.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and adapt to ongoing changes within the organization.

The candidate
We are looking for someone who is diligent, organised and is able to ensure action points are followed through on. Someone who is confident holding others to account, whilst taking a supportive and coach like approach. We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong understanding of technical standards and specification systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable in customerfacing roles and influencing across departments.
• Willingness to travel and engage with diverse teams.
• Experience in private label/retail product environments is a must.
• Enjoys working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
