our customers.

The Zoro team is in London and Leicester.  Leicester is the home of the Product,
Customer and Finance teams, whilst our Development, Marketing and Data
Analytics teams are based in the heart of London.

Primary Function:

The role of Senior Digital Merchandiser
(Mat Cover) is to support  the load,
creation and optimisation of digital product content to increase conversion,
order value and customer engagement.

Our approach to merchandising is to load
at scale and automate elements of content creation, necessary for a large
product assortment of 3.7 million (and growing)  products. The Senior Digital Merchandiser will also be responsible for
managing content improvement projects from point of initiation to
delivery.  This will mean that the job
holder should be comfortable with defining scope and making recommendations as
to how to implement changes. 

We have ambitious plans to continually
scale our product range over the next few years, so the successful candidate
will have experience of  both managing
product content but will also have good experience of working with suppliers
and have a real appetite for growing our digital product content.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

This role will:

1.           Support
the Digital Merchandising Manager to ensure delivery of the Content and
Merchandising roadmap

2.           Help
to maintain roadmap operational items through understanding of processes,
customers, and opportunities.

3.           Manage
a small team of Digital Merchandisers to ensure that content enrichment tasks
are delivered in a timely manner and in line with Zoro’s processes.

4.           Support
the team development through maintaining 121 conversations and existing
training & development plans

5.           Work
with Senior Digital Merchandiser of Product Data, Merchandising Manager and
Automation Team to  oversee the
maintenance of Content Dictionaries

6.           Lead
ongoing Content Improvement and Enrichment projects such as taxonomy
improvements and variants from the operational perspective. Develop approach to
content amendments

7.           Ensure
team is trained on relevant merchandising tools and support on testing &
providing feedback

8.           Communicate
enrichment updates in Merchandising sessions and cross departmental meetings.

9.           Seek
opportunities to iteratively improve the content quality and coverage

10.         Work
with IT teams and merchandisers to develop solutions to increase automation of
processes

11.         Investigating
and owning unforeseen issues by working with IT and 3rd parties to resolve.

12.         Work
to the company management system (ZIMS) requirements at all times.

Requirements

1.      Bachelor’s degree in any qualification
is desirable.

2.      Demonstrable knowledge and experience
of creating digital product content

3.      Experience of Informatica or similar
(e.g., STEP or Akeneo).

4.      Experience of using Analytics tools to
measure and monitor impact of changes

5.      Ability to take results and turn into
action

6.      Information Architecture / Taxonomy
Management / Cataloguing systems experience

7.      Dealing with large sets of data and
loading, optimising and enhancing such.

8.      Passion for all things digital coupled
with the drive to make a difference to customers

9.      Understanding of how customers consume
information online

10.   Ability to work independently against a defined set of
objectives

11.   SQL and Google Sheets / Excel experience preferred.

12.   Strong cross-functional experience and ability to work
in a collaborative, dynamic environment

13.  Big Query experience and exposure is desirable, but not
essential.

Work Environment:

Reports to Digital Merchandising Manager.

Base work location is Leicester (South Wigston) with flexibility to
work remotely. The role may require travel between Zoro locations.

Collaborates closely with other members of the Zoro team and Grainger
companies
