Senior ITAM Consultant

Overview of the role

We are now very excited to grow that team further by hiring a Senior ITAM Consultant to be a figurehead and subject matter specialist of ITAM services and licensing optimisation consultancy delivered within Phoenix Software. 

What will you be doing? 

• Lead client engagements to design, implement, and optimise ITAM strategies, policies, and processes. 

• Provide expert advice on software asset management (SAM) best practices. 

• Conduct ITAM maturity assessments and deliver recommendations for improvement. 

• Manage and deliver complex ITAM consultancy projects, ensuring outcomes meet client objectives and compliance requirements. 

• Analyse licensing agreements, contracts, and usage data to optimise spend and mitigate compliance risk. 

• Support clients in preparing for, or responding to, vendor audits and negotiations. 

• Advise on tooling selection, deployment, and integration for ITAM platforms (e.g., Snow, ServiceNow, Flexera). 

• Deliver workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions to clients and internal teams.

What are we looking for? 

The right person for this role will have extensive experience in IT asset management gained from working in a similar type of company to Phoenix. You must have strong Microsoft licensing knowledge and great experience across ITAM tools such as License Dashboard (preferred), Snow & ServiceNow. 

Key Skills & Experience: 

• Extensive hands-on experience in IT Asset Management (software and hardware). 

• Strong understanding of Microsoft software licensing models  

• Proven track record delivering ITAM/SAM consultancy projects  

• Experience with leading ITAM tools such as License Dashboard, Snow & ServiceNow 

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex licensing data and provide clear recommendations. 

• Knowledge of ITAM governance, compliance, and cost optimisation practices. 

• Ability to design and deliver client workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions. 

• Proven ability to present complex ITAM insights and recommendations to C-Suite and senior executives with clarity and impact. 

• Skilled in tailoring communication style for different audiences, from technical teams to board-level stakeholders. 

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing decision-makers and building long-term trusted relationships. 

• Ability to balance commercial, technical, and compliance perspectives when engaging with senior stakeholders. 

• Strong project management skills to lead engagements from scoping to delivery. 

• Awareness of adjacent disciplines (e.g., IT Service Management, FinOps, Cybersecurity) and how ITAM integrates with them.

Where is the role based? 
Primary location is our HQ in Pocklington (YO42) but this role can be remote with monthly visits to the HQ
