Senior Social Work Practitioner

Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority who are looking to recruit a Senior Social Work Practitioner in the AMHP service based in West Sussex. This will be on a permanent basis paying £45,441 - £48,474 P/Annum

Responsibilities include:

• Working with Vulnerable Adults with Mental Health
• Work towards your AMPH qualification.
• To triage referrals, assess risk and prioritise for response.
• To undertake statutory duties related to the care of adults and of their carers as

defined in the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983

• To keep up to date with developments, products and information relating to the

service and the rest of the council to ensure that appropriate and timely information is

given to customers.

• To ensure proportionate risk assessments for both the customer and the carer

associated with any support plan have been carried out.

• To undertake reviews of customers with long term needs as required and within

statutory timelines and carry out reassessments as required

• To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all partners (both

internal and external) to ensure that the team can deliver a co-ordinated,

timely and appropriate service to the customer

• To prepare and present reports for mental health reviews, tribunals in respect of

services users who are subject to detention under the MHA 1983

• Care management
• Report writing and assessment
• Carrying a caseload of service users
• Liaising with other professional bodies whilst working within the Mental Health Act
• Safeguarding Adults

Experience Essential:

• Registered qualified professional (Social Work, Nurse, OT, psychologist)
• Extensive knowledge of and be able to apply, a range of complex and specialist legislation i.e. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Children
• Act and other relevant case law
• Valid driving licence
• Extensive experience of working independently undertaking MHA assessments

Minimum Requirements:

• SWE Registration
• 1 year post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
• Eligibility to work in the UK
