Job Description - Strategic Planning Account Director 6 month FTC

About the Role:


We are looking for a confident and curious individual to join our passionate Strategic Planning team – a team which offers strategy and media planning services for a range of public sector clients including Met Police, NHSBT, FCA, MOJ, HMRC, Visit Britain, and GambleAware.


The Strategic Planning team are responsible for delivering best in class strategic thinking, audience insight, and overarching comms planning approach across the Paid, Owned, and Earned ecosystem.  We draw upon behavioural economics, creative thinking, and analytics to create recommendations to deliver on our clients’ outcomes.  Managing the clients day to day is a core aspect of our role.  This is an incredibly exciting team to be part of – bringing together art and science to really change society for the better. 


While we are a small independent unit, we work closely with the Strategy and Planning Teams within MGOMD and OmniGov, the specialist division created to handle UK Government media buying, handling all 80+ very different government departments.  Our role within this forum is to share great work, ideas, and support new business.


The role on offer will be working on Met Police primarily.  The major focus is on police officer recruitment campaigns – to attract people to join the workforce to be part of the Met’s efforts to change for the better – and campaigns designed to encourage people to be vigilant in crime hotspots.  You will also be involved in developing NHSBT’s Organ Donation campaigns – encouraging people to sign up to the organ register and to discuss their wishes with their families. 


The successful candidate’s primary tasks include:



  • Developing strong client relationships rooted in trust and transparency, as the Met’s and NHSBT(Organs)’s primary point of contact for day to day matters.

  • To lead to the development and delivery of effective, award-winning campaigns that align with client outcomes and agency goals.

  • Managing a small team, providing guidance and mentorship while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration. You must be able to identify and nurture their strengths, whilst helping them develop in all other areas imperative for strong strategic solutions.

  • Working closely with our Centres of Excellence (especially Insight, Unite, Annalect) to identify opportunities to introduce them to clients to improve campaign outcomes and line of sight understanding.

Flexible Working

We have a hybrid working model (three days in the office, two working remotely), to ensure that we meet the needs of both our people and our business, balancing the benefits of in-person connections with the flexibility of remote working.  Our standard working hours are 9:30 – 17:30, but we offer the ability to flex around core hours of 10:30 – 16:30 to give our people flexibility on how they manage their working day, whether that’s in the office or working remotely. For example, you could start work at 8:30 and finish at 16:30 or start at 10:30 and finish at 18:30.
