A leading North American steel bridge fabricator is seeking a Steel Fabrication Subcontract Manager to oversee compliance for a major bridge project based in Alabama. This is a remote position with fully covered travel for site visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate subcontracted steel fabrication activities for a major infrastructure project.
• Serve as the primary liaison between internal project teams and subcontractors.
• Oversee fabrication timelines, quality control, and contractual compliance.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of subcontractor facilities and progress.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with subcontractor performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on subcontractor deliverables and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience managing structural steel or bridge fabrication subcontractors.
• Deep knowledge of steel fabrication processes, quality standards (AISC, AWS), and project logistics.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractor relationships and hold teams accountable.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience working with remote project teams and construction site environments.
• Ability and willingness to travel to the job site in Alabama as required.
