Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver

Due to business growth, our client a removals company based in London are looking to recruit an experienced Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver to join their busy team.

As Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver, you will undertake standard Porter and Porter-Driver responsibilities as well as being a Foreman on a job from time to time. When you are not the appointed Foreman and you will work as a porter being managed by the allocated Foreman. Your responsibilities will include driving 18 tonne, 12 tonne, 7.5 tonne and 3.5 tonne vehicles between our warehouse and customer addresses. You will be required to comply with driver restrictions relating to driver CPC holders.

Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver duties include:

• Introduce yourself to the customer as the main point of contact.
• Keep the customer informed and ensure that all the client's requirements are being met.
• Driving company vehicles; ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy, keeping the cab free from rubbish and for returning the vehicle to the fleet at the end of the day clean and tidy and with adequate fuel, responsible for making sure that the vehicle is legally parked.
• Working as a team undertaking the safe handling of customer goods.
• Exceeding customers expectations by understanding their needs, planning with excellence, and delivering with care
• Ensuring you and your team are polite and courteous at all times, presenting in a professional manner at all times.
• Adhering to company policy on driver and vehicle safety.

Having a Category C driving licence and physical strength is vital for this role.

We're keen to speak to removals professionals who have experience in driving 18 tonne vehicles as well as the customer care, packing/unpacking, loading/unloading and problem solving skills this position demands.

This is a full time permanent position working an average of 44 hours per week, over a repeating pattern of 6 days one week, then 5 the next.

In return, the successful Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver will be offered c£35,000 in line with experience and skills.
