Renewals Team Leader

A dynamic and fast-growing UK-based insurance organisation operating as a Managing General Agent (MGA). With a strong presence in the SME commercial and high net worth personal lines market, the company offers a full suite of services including underwriting, claims, actuarial, and operational support.
They are now looking for a Renewals Team Lead to join their team in the City.

Your new role

They are seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader to support the Manager of Existing Business and the Head of Department. This role is key to ensuring service levels are met, broker relationships are maintained, and underwriting standards are upheld. You'll also play a vital role in team development and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee team workloads and allocate underwriting priorities effectively
• Underwrite a reduced broker panel directly
• Support process improvements aligned with business goals
• Identify training needs and support team development
• Lead team communications, including MI, targets, and meetings
• Monitor retention rates and service level agreements (SLAs)
• Conduct quarterly one-to-ones with team members

• Strong underwriting background, ideally within commercial or personal lines
• Proven leadership or team coordination experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Ability to manage performance and support team development
