Repairs & Maintenance Lead

INTERIM REPAIRS & TRANSFORMATION MANAGER
£450-£550 per day | East London | 6 months+ | c.3 days per week

A housing organisation in East London is looking for an experienced Repairs & Transformation Manager to play a key role in improving its repairs, maintenance and voids service.

This is a hands-on interim role for someone who knows housing repairs and can get into the detail, identify what isn't working and help make things better.

The role

The organisation is undertaking a significant transformation programme, with a particular focus on repairs and maintenance, voids, contractor performance, data and operational standards.

You'll work across the organisation to turn plans into practical improvements - working with operational teams, contractors and Council stakeholders to ensure priorities are clear and delivery stays on track.

You'll be expected to spend time with operational teams and in the service, not just behind a desk.

You'll be involved in:

Improving repairs and maintenance performance.
Reviewing and improving void turnaround times.
Understanding what is driving current performance issues.
Working with contractors and reviewing how work is procured and delivered.
Identifying where work can be delivered directly and where specialist contractors are required.
Improving data quality, reconciliation and reporting.
Supporting improvements to safety standards and operational processes.
Helping address cultural and performance issues.
Bringing the right people together to resolve problems and keep priorities aligned.
Supporting the wider transformation and target operating model.

What we're looking for

You'll be an experienced housing repairs or property professional with a strong understanding of day-to-day housing operations.

We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate experience of:

Turning around repairs or voids services.
Reducing void turnaround times.
Improving contractor performance.
Managing outsourced repairs arrangements.
Improving operational processes and performance.
Working with housing associations or large London boroughs.
Using data to identify problems and drive improvement.
Working across client, contractor and operational teams.You'll be practical, credible and comfortable getting into the detail.

You don't need to be a director or transformation consultant. We need someone who understands how repairs actually work, can build relationships with operational teams and contractors, and has the experience to know what good looks like.
