Our client is a well-established and highly respected construction and property services contractor with over 50 years of industry experience and an annual turnover exceeding £55 million.
The business delivers a comprehensive range of services including new build construction, refurbishment, retrofit, roofing, planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and property maintenance. Operating across London and the South East, they work with a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, delivering projects valued between £5 million and £50 million for local authorities, housing associations, schools, hospitals, and commercial organisations.
The Role
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Repairs Planner to join their busy team in South East London. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with strong scheduling and customer service skills to play a key role in coordinating repairs and maintenance activities across London and the South East.
The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently scheduling operatives, managing repair requests, and ensuring clients receive a responsive and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
* Schedule repair and maintenance works daily, ensuring operatives' diaries are fully utilised and efficiently managed.
* Allocate work promptly to operatives as availability changes throughout the day.
* Monitor emergency repair requests and ensure they are managed within agreed response times and service level targets.
* Liaise with surveyors to obtain approval for variations, allowing works to progress through to completion without unnecessary delays.
* Deliver a high standard of customer service when dealing with residents, clients, and stakeholders.
* Handle incoming calls and emails, logging repair requests accurately and providing regular progress updates.
* Coordinate and dispatch operatives to attend repair appointments.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all job information is updated promptly on internal systems.
* Take ownership of repair enquiries, using effective questioning and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and identify the most appropriate solution.
* Manage and prioritise incoming repairs inboxes, allocating work efficiently and ensuring service standards are maintained.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a Repairs Planner, Scheduler, Coordinator or similar role within repairs, maintenance, housing, construction or property services.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
* Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Experience using repairs scheduling or property management systems would be advantageous.
