Job Description - Reporter, Life Sciences

Job Description

Are you passionate about telling impactful stories in the fast-moving world of biopharma? At Informa Connect Life Sciences, you'll step into the role of B2B reporter covering the dynamic biopharmaceutical industry. You'll take the lead in reporting, writing, and shaping digital content that drives engagement across our flagship site, BioProcess International, and other industry-leading platforms. Every day, you'll create original stories that inform and connect global audiences in biomanufacturing, clinical trials, deal-making, and commercialization. Responsibilities 

Editorial duties (70%)

  • Sourcing and producing news stories/features/opinion pieces about the above-mentioned areas
  • Uploading, posting, promoting individual and team content
  • Researching and interviewing key industry contacts to deliver accurate content
  • Reporting from and about industry conferences and trade events – both Informa’s and others
  • Building strong contacts within the industry and developing an expertise of the markets covered

Media support (20%)

  • Developing a social media presence to support the brands, along with audio/visual content
  • Contribute to overall Editorial Department KPIs that grow the credibility and visibility of the media brands

Other (10%)

  • Provide manager and team with regular updates about industry trends
  • Manage ad hoc projects, or communication for additional products as required by the schedule.
  • Performs other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business journalism, with strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent editorial judgment, creative writing flair, and the ability to deliver under pressure
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving news environment
  • Comfortable engaging with industry sources and networking at events
