The Opportunity
We're supporting a leading research-led organisation in the search for a Research Infrastructure Engineer to join a specialist team delivering advanced computing platforms that support research, data science and AI initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to work with high performance infrastructure, supporting researchers and technical teams to ensure critical services remain secure, reliable and scalable.
The Role
You'll be part of the team responsible for supporting and developing large-scale research computing environments, helping researchers make effective use of specialist technology and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting and administering Linux-based research computing platforms Managing HPC, AI and data-intensive infrastructure Maintaining large-scale storage environments Troubleshooting complex infrastructure, networking and software issues Working closely with researchers to develop technical solutions Producing technical documentation and user guidance Supporting on delivering user training and workshops Contributing to platform improvements and automation initiatives
About You
We're keen to speak with technical professionals who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges and working closely with end users.
You'll have experience in one or more of the following:
Linux systems administration High Performance Computing (HPC) Enterprise storage platforms Network administration GPU-enabled environments Research or scientific computing Infrastructure automation and DevOps practicesYou'll also be comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders and translating technical concepts into practical solutions.
Desirable Experience
Research, scientific or higher education environments Infrastructure as Code and automation tools DevOps methodologies AI and machine learning infrastructure
