Job Description - Reserving Analyst

** IPSWICH ROLE **

I am working closely with a leading insurer to hire a Reserving Analyst in their Reserving Actuarial team.

You will provide high-quality actuarial analysis, enhance methodologies, and support quarterly reserve reviews and monthly performance reporting.

The Role -

Support estimation of current and future loss ratios
Assist in assessing product profitability and line performance
Deliver analysis to inform strategic initiatives and decision-making
Validate and reconcile MI data for actuarial reporting
Contribute to process improvements and methodological enhancements
Support audit activity, ensuring strong controls and compliance
Build effective relationships with SBUs, Finance, MI, Claims and Strategy teams

The Candidate -

Progressing with actuarial qualifications (trainee, part-qualified or near-qualified), or relevant insurance/financial experience
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
Understanding of reserving principles and insurance accounting
Proficient in Excel and actuarial tools (e.g. SAS, Python, VBA)
Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
Clear communicator who can translate technical insights into business value

Location - Ipswich (40-60% in the office)
