Resident Consultant (Haematology)

Stroud Resourcing is seeking an ambitious and driven Resident Consultant Hematologist to join our client's dedicated and passionate team.

This role offers an excellent salary of up to £109,600 FTE and many fantastic benefits. This is a part-time role offering 20 hours per week across Thursdays and Fridays.

It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining this state-of-the-art, specialty hospital. This purpose-built facility has received huge investment, and its facilities include 43 beds, 8-bedded advanced cellular therapy unit, JACIE Accredited hematopoietic stem cell transplant unit and much more. This hospital is perfectly equipped to deliver specialist, complex hematology and oncology care.

As a Resident Consultant you will:

Serve as the primary clinical expert within the hospitals private patient ward. You will be the go-to individual for the Private Consultants and Specialist Nurses, and provide essential support to enhance the structure of the medical team.
Provide professional leadership, assume continuing responsibility for the clinical service, and offer clinical expertise in the daily operations of the unit and clinical care delivered to all patients.
Be clinically accountable to the named private practicing Consultant.
Serve as a Clinical Expert role model, performing clinical procedures such as bone marrow aspirate and trephine, and administering Intrathecal chemotherapy.
Prescribe chemotherapy as per relevant clinical protocols.
Coordinate the junior medical team to ensure continuity in patient care, enhancing patient experience.
Promote and lead relevant research projects on the unit and with SCRI.To apply for this Consultant Hematologist role you will need:

Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
To be on the specialist register, recognised at Consultant level to practice in the UK.
Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in hematology.
Experience in supervising and teaching trainee physicians.
A passion for Hematology and Oncology Services, consistently striving for excellence through audit and research.
The ability to lead a team through effective communication skills and influencing teaching skills.
