Resident Forklift Engineer

As a Resident Forklift Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping a fleet of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment operational, carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs.

Key responsibilities -

* Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and lifting equipment.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.

* Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections.

* Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.

* Carry out safety checks, including brakes, steering, hydraulics, hoses and electrical systems.

* Identify parts requirements and raise accurate parts requests.

* Maintain service records and complete relevant paperwork.

* Liaise with the customer and site team to ensure excellent service levels.

* Work safely and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Personal Requirements -

* Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Engineer or similar.

* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

* Experience working on forklift trucks or other materials handling/industrial equipment.

* A proactive and reliable approach.

* Good communication and customer service skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Salary - £35,000-£40,000 +15% shift allowance.
