As the Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a nurturing, safe, and empowering environment where children and young people can achieve positive outcomes and thrive. You’ll oversee all aspects of operational delivery, including staff leadership, safeguarding, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of the residential service to ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015) and other relevant legislation.
Provide strong, compassionate leadership to the team, promoting a culture of accountability, development, and excellence.
Oversee care and placement planning, ensuring every child’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
Drive continuous service improvement through robust monitoring, evaluation, and feedback processes.
Ensure effective safeguarding practices and act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead within the home.
Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, regulators, and the local community.
Manage resources, budgets, and staffing levels effectively to ensure sustainability and high -quality care.
Maintain a home environment that promotes inclusion, stability, and positive development for all residents.
Prepare and lead the service for Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home consistently meets “Good” or “Outstanding” ratings.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent, or willingness to work towards).
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a Children’s Residential Home.
Proven track record of leading teams to deliver excellent outcomes for children and young people.
Strong understanding of the Children’s Act 1989, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), and relevant statutory guidance.
Demonstrable experience in safeguarding, staff supervision, and quality assurance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Financial management experience, including responsibility for budgets and resource allocation.
Desirable:
Previous success in achieving positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
Experience in developing services and identifying growth opportunities.
Ability to inspire and mentor staff teams to achieve continuous improvement.
