Job Description - Residential Property Head of Department

My client is a prestigious law firm based in South West London, known for delivering high-quality legal services across various sectors. They are currently on the lookout for a Residential Property Head of Department to join their team.

The Role: As the Head of the Residential Property Department, you will be responsible for managing and growing the department while overseeing a team of skilled solicitors and support staff. You will play a pivotal role in delivering excellent legal services to clients and ensuring the department operates efficiently and in accordance with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Residential Property team, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance and client satisfaction.
Oversee the full range of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, and remortgages.
Develop and implement strategies for department growth and business development.
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, including individuals, developers, and investors.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and train junior solicitors, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Participate in firm-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business.

Key Requirements:

Qualified Solicitor with at least 8 years of PQE in Residential Property law.
Strong leadership and team management experience.
In-depth knowledge of residential property law and regulations.
Excellent client-facing skills and a proven track record of business development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Proven ability to manage a busy caseload, delegate effectively, and work under pressure.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
