Role: Residential Support Worker 

Salary: £26,100.00 per annum 

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent. 

Contract/Hours: Permanent - Full Time 37 hours a week - Service hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm.

About the service

McCarthy House is a welcoming, therapeutic residential home providing care for up to four children and young people aged 7–17. Its 18 

We support young people who may have we support young people with learning disabilities some of which may have had  experienced early childhood trauma, helping them to feel safe, valued, and empowered. As part of our passionate and supportive team, you’ll play a vital role in nurturing each young person’s strengths and helping them reach their full potential giving them the living skills they require for becoming an adult.

Some of the young people we support may experience low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and challenges with communication, which can sometimes lead to behaviours that require patience and understanding all training for this will be given . 

A positive, resilient, and genuinely compassionate approach is essential, as you’ll be making a meaningful difference in their lives every day.

How you'll help to create brighter futures:

• Help us maintain the high standards of care and personal development our young people have come to expect. 

• Getting involved in lots of fun activities both within the home and out in the community.

• Assisting with personal care and daily routines of the young people.

• Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes

• Have a good understanding of safeguarding 

• Helping coach young people to develop essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money matters.

Ideally you will: 

• Understand how to engage with young people with commutation barriers . 

• Have a positive approach and ‘can do’ attitude. 

• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team and as a Leader.

• Be ready to complete a level 3 in Residential Childcare within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
