Residential Support Worker - Medical & Healthcare Graduates

Location: Preston
Salary: up to £32,000
Hours: 40 hours (full-time)

We are recruiting Residential Support Worker for our specialist children's home, which is closely connected to a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This is an exciting opportunity to use your knowledge and skills to support young people with a range of needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and complex care requirements.

Who This Role Suits:
  • Medical Students & Graduates

  • Nursing Students & Qualified Nurses

  • Physiotherapy Students/Graduates

  • Biomedical Science Graduates

  • Psychology or Health Science Graduates

  • Background working with SEMH children

Your background in healthcare or medical studies provides you with valuable skills in communication, care, and emotional support-all of which are vital in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing compassionate, person-centred care to children and young people

  • Assisting with daily routines, personal care, and therapeutic activities

  • Supporting emotional, social, and physical wellbeing

  • Helping young people develop independence and life skills

  • Administering or assisting with medication (training provided)

  • Working closely with the SEN school staff, healthcare professionals, and families

  • Keeping accurate records and care documentation
