Responsible Individual - Children's Residential Homes

Locations: Rochdale & Bradford

Salary: £70,000 per annum + £5,000 bonus after probation + performance bonuses

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Are you an experienced children's residential care leader looking for your next challenge? Join Prosperity Children's Services as our new Responsible Individual and help us create safe, nurturing, and empowering homes for children and young people across Rochdale and Bradford.

As Responsible Individual, you'll work closely with our Senior Management Team and Registered Managers to ensure our homes provide the highest standard of care, meet all regulatory requirements, and deliver outstanding outcomes for the children and young people we support.

What you'll do:
  • Provide clear leadership, mentoring, and supervision to Registered Managers.
  • Oversee the registration, development, and quality of multiple children's residential homes.
  • Ensure all homes operate in line with the Statement of Purpose, Ofsted regulations, and company policies.
  • Support inspections and local authority visits, acting as the point of contact and ensuring recommendations are actioned promptly.
  • Lead on recruitment, induction, training, and performance management of Registered Managers and their teams.
  • Develop internal quality assurance systems to maintain high standards and long-term placements.
  • Monitor budgets, staffing levels, referrals, and maintenance resources to ensure homes are well-resourced and compliant.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, local authorities, and other professionals to meet the needs of each child's care plan.
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure all staff understand their responsibilities.
  • Attend meetings, training, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
What we're looking for:
  • Proven experience in a senior or strategic role within a children's residential care setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Children's Services (or equivalent).
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Calm, approachable, resilient, and adaptable under pressure.
