Our client is building a diverse portfolio of private brands in consumer goods, spanning a wide range of categories and quality tiers. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Retail Vendor Manager to lead Private Brand sourcing and scaling initiatives within their grocery business. This role encompasses both physical stores and online platforms, aiming to ensure the long-term success of their private label products.

This is a 9-months contract, offering up to £55.000 per annum, pro rata (PAYE).

Responsibilities:
Act as the business owner for assigned categories, possessing a comprehensive understanding of all internal and external variables that impact the business.
Have an in-depth knowledge of seasonality and global trends/events, continually monitoring competitor and industry developments.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects meet tight deadlines.
Conduct financial analyses of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.
Own forecasting, monitoring, understanding, and reporting on vendor performance.
Drive strategic supply chain projects and promotions to achieve business objectives.
Support broader Private Brands initiatives, including selection expansion, vendor negotiations, and engagement.

Requirements:
Experience in a buying role.
Experience in the grocery sector is preferred but not essential.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Skills:
Strong analytical and financial acumen.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Proficiency in category management, pricing, inventory management, supply chain, marketing, and finance.
