Registered Nurse on Bank at Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home for the position of Registered Nurse on BANK who possesses a genuine commitment to providing high quality nursing care within our care setting. Our Clinical Nurse manager and the other nurses on duty are always available to help (on each shift there is a minimum of 2 nurses for our 40-bed unit). 

About you:

• Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC pin (minimum 3 years experience)
• Strong clinical skills
• A professional, friendly attitude 
• Quick learner, able to implement our staff values within the team
• Motivated and enthusiastic on mentoring and coaching all the staff
• Drive and focus to provide excellent customer service and quality of care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience and an up to date understanding of care service practices, legislation, regulations and standards

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate, complete healthcare records and reports
• Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
• Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
• Recording patient vital signs and medical information into Predicaire system (electronically)
• Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
• Administering non-intravenous medications
• Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members
• Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses

Hours

Bank RGN - zero hours contract

Shift 7:30 - 15:00 or 14:30 - 22:00, or you can work what we call a double shift 7:30 - 22:00 (and enjoy more days off every week).

• Salary - The rate of pay per hour now is £21.38 (Mon-Fri) with a 20% enhancement at weekends £25.66.
• Bank holiday rate of pay will be £32.07 and Christmas day & New Year's day pay rate will be £42.76.

Requirements - The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check through the Disclosure and Barring Service and successful completion of a six-months probationary period.
