Risk and Compliance Manager — Position Overview:

This role will cover a wide range of risk and compliance responsibilities, supporting the firm in ensuring best practice and regulatory compliance across multiple areas.

Key Responsibilities of the Risk and Compliance Manager:

• Assist with responses to complaints, SRA enquiries, DSARs, and investigations
• Support with suspicious activity reports and sanctions issues
• Draft, implement, and maintain policies and retainer documents
• Develop and deliver training, including induction for new joiners
• Create and implement project plans; manage file audits
• Prepare reports, assessments, and registers
• Assist with client due diligence and operational issues on client matters
• Attend and present at meetings; signpost to relevant individuals and agencies
• Keep up to date with AML, data protection, sanctions and SRA regulations

Requirements of the Risk and Compliance Manager:

• 5+ years’ experience in a risk and compliance role within a Top 500 law firm
• Strong knowledge of AML, counter-terrorist financing, data protection, sanctions and SRA Standards and Regulations
• Excellent drafting, communication, and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure
• Commercial, practical approach with flexibility and ambition
• Strong IT skills and ability to grasp complex issues quickly
• Team player who works effectively with colleagues at all levels
