Job Description - Risk Officer

QED are currently supporting a global Financial Services Institution who are on the lookout for a detail-driven Risk Analyst to join our growing Risk function. The role involves close collaboration with compliance, finance, tech, and operations and offers the chance to shape a framework that scales with the business.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) across all business lines
Oversee the Risk Register: ensure accurate identification, assessment, mitigation, and tracking of risks
Support regular risk assessments and risk & control self-assessments (RCSAs) across functions
Lead incident management and root cause analysis, documenting lessons learned and improvement plans
Monitor regulatory risk and work with Compliance to ensure adherence to FCA and relevant EU/UK frameworks (e.g., PSD2, EMRs, MiFID)
Collaborate with the trading and treasury teams to understand and monitor market, credit, and counterparty risk
Contribute to the company’s operational resilience strategy: mapping critical services and testing impact tolerances
Prepare and present risk reports and dashboards to senior leadership and the Risk Committee
Support scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk appetite reviews

About you

2-3 years in risk management, preferably within an FX, fintech, or financial services environment
Solid understanding of operational and enterprise risk in a regulated setting
Experience working with FCA guidelines, EMRs, PSD2, and other relevant regulatory frameworks
Familiarity with financial risks related to FX trading, liquidity, and counter-party exposure
Prior experience with risk systems, GRC tools, or Excel-based risk tracking
