We’re working with an established logistics and freight organisation supporting customers across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they’re looking for an experienced Road Freight Operator to join their Gateshead team.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy operation where you’ll manage shipments from booking through to delivery, while building relationships with customers, hauliers and overseas partners.

The role:

• Plan UK and European import/export road freight movements
• Coordinate groupage, part-load and full-load consignments
• Manage customer bookings and track shipments through to delivery
• Complete export customs declarations via CDS
• Produce quotations and follow up with customers
• Liaise with hauliers, suppliers and overseas partners
• Prepare CMR documentation and check costs
• Resolve operational issues and maintain excellent customer service

What we’re looking for:

You’ll ideally have at least one year’s experience within European road freight, freight forwarding or shipping, alongside a good understanding of customs processes.

You’ll be organised, confident managing multiple shipments and comfortable communicating with customers and suppliers.
