Road Marking Chargehand / Operative

Looking to progress your career in highways? We are hiring 2 Road Marking Operatives to join our South West team on a full-time permanent basis predominantly working day shifts, with flexibility to work nights/weekends where required.

The ideal candidates will have prior experience in road marking, but we also welcome applications from enthusiastic newcomers who are eager to learn and grow in this industry. As a well-established business full training and opportunities for future progression are available.

Ideally you will be located within the Weston-super-mare (BS24 9BA) area but you will work for WJ South West Depot based in Wellington, Somerset - and will, as and when be required to work from this Yard (TA21)

Responsibilities include assisting with a variety of road marking activities that meet our customer expectations of high-quality, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining equipment.

Working as part of a team is vital plus you should be hard-working, self-driven and approachable, also complete works to a high standard while taking pride in your work.

Previously working on highways or in the construction industry is preferred.

You should have:

• Valid UK driving license (essential)*
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Excellent time management skills
• The ability to work in a fast-moving environment
• The ability to carry out manual handling tasks

WJ will provide the opportunity to earn an NVQ, get your CSCS card along with LGV Licence, ADR Licence, 12DT1 Traffic Management, Forklift and all other Health & Safety training.
