Roofer

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Roofer to join a Local Authority on a temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out roofing repairs, maintenance and associated building works across a range of commercial and Council-owned properties. The role holder will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver a high-quality, value-for-money service while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance with health and safety requirements.

Main Duties:

* Carry out roofing repairs, maintenance and associated building works in accordance with specifications and instructions provided

* Undertake repairs to a variety of roofing systems within commercial and public sector properties

* Inspect roofing defects and identify appropriate repair solutions

* Work safely and efficiently in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations, policies and procedures

* Use appropriate access equipment and work at height when required

* Liaise professionally with tenants, building users and colleagues

* Ensure work is completed to a high standard with a focus on customer satisfaction

* Report any hazards, defects or health and safety concerns to management

Essential Criteria:

* NVQ Level 2 in Roof Covering or equivalent qualification

* Completed roofing apprenticeship or equivalent trade training

* Previous roofing experience within a repairs and maintenance environment

* Experience working on commercial properties

* Ability to work at height and use appropriate access equipment safely

* Knowledge of current health and safety regulations and safe working practices

* Good customer service and communication skills

* Basic IT skills

* Full UK driving licence

* Enhanced DBS check required
