Roofing Contracts Manager

About the Role

An established roofing contractor is seeking an experienced Flat Roofing Contracts Manager to take responsibility for the successful commercial and operational delivery of roofing projects from contract award through to completion.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical roofing knowledge with excellent commercial, organisational and people-management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Manage flat roofing contracts from award through to practical completion.

Take responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of allocated projects.

Review contract documentation, drawings, specifications and programmes.

Plan and coordinate labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.

Liaise with clients, main contractors, consultants and project teams.

Attend site and progress meetings as required.

Monitor project programmes, progress and costs.

Ensure works are delivered to the required specification and quality standards.

Identify and manage variations, additional works and commercial opportunities.

Prepare and submit valuations, variations and supporting documentation.

Monitor project margins and financial performance.

Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure programme and quality requirements are met.

Work closely with the estimating team during project handovers.

Resolve technical, commercial and operational issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain appropriate project records and documentation.

Monitor health and safety requirements and ensure site teams operate in accordance with company procedures.

Assist with final accounts, completion documentation and client handover.

Build and maintain strong long-term client and contractor relationships.

About You

Proven experience managing flat roofing contracts or projects.

Strong technical understanding of commercial flat roofing systems and installation.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong commercial and financial awareness.

Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

Good understanding of construction programmes and project delivery.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.

Professional and commercially focused approach.

Confident dealing directly with clients, main contractors and senior stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

Commercial, industrial or large-scale roofing projects.

Relevant construction or roofing qualifications.

Experience with JCT or other construction contracts.

CSCS, SMSTS or equivalent construction management qualifications.

Project management and commercial software experience.

Package

£50,000–£70,000 salary, depending on experience.
