Roofing Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project costs and preparing accurate estimates for various projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects remain within budget while meeting quality standards. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather necessary information and provide comprehensive cost analyses.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analysing labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimation process.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather relevant data for accurate estimations.
• Maintain a database of past projects and their costs for reference in future estimates.
• Monitor project budgets throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to cost control measures.
• Provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding estimates and any potential changes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in using estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
