Ashtead Technology have an exciting opportunity for an ROV Tooling Technician to join our busy team in Kintore - we are seeking a hands-on problem solver with a passion for technical problem-solving and offshore technology.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing a wide range of ROV tooling and associated equipment.
Commissioning new tooling systems and supporting bespoke tooling builds from assembly through to testing.
Preparing tooling packages for offshore mobilisation, ensuring all equipment is certified, operational, and deployment-ready.
Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic systems.
Supporting mobilisations, site interface testing, and commissioning activities when required.
Managing equipment records, work orders, and inventory to maintain operational readiness and traceability.
What experience you'll bring:
Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Proven experience maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing ROV tooling equipment.
Strong knowledge of ROV tooling systems, including torque tools, valve packs, cutters, LAOTs, and IHPUs.
Sound understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose faults and interpret schematics.
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-focused approach.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience with electrical systems and fault-finding would be advantageous.
