Job Title: Registered Veterinary Nurse – Night Team

Location: Kentdale referrals , Milnthorpe

Hours: 8am-8pm 3 nights on - 24 nights off ( 3 nights per month)

Salary: £41,195.73 Annual (Prorated: £8,498.68)

Are you a passionate RVN looking for a rewarding night role within a specialist referral environment?

At Kentdale Referrals, we are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our experienced night team, delivering exceptional overnight care to our referral patients. This would be ideal for a nurse looking to supplement a current income due to only being 3 nights per month.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with a genuine passion for ward nursing and inpatient care, working with a varied caseload including orthopaedic, soft tissue, and neurosurgical patients.

Working alongside a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care throughout the night, with Veterinary Surgeon support available on-call when required.

Working Pattern

• 8pm – 8am
• Rolling rota of 3 nights on (Friday–Sunday) followed by 24 nights off
• Average 8.25 hours per week
• Annualised contract
• Annual leave included within salary

About the Role

As part of our dedicated referral team, you will:

• Deliver outstanding inpatient and post-operative nursing care
• Monitor and care for surgical and medical patients overnight
• Administer medications, fluid therapy, dressings and treatments
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Support patient admissions and discharges
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
• Help maintain high clinical and hygiene standards across all areas
• Support and mentor student nurses and animal care assistants
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a nurse who:

• Is a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse
• Has a passion for inpatient and referral nursing
• Demonstrates excellent organisational and communication skills
• Works calmly and efficiently in a night environment
• Is committed to high standards of patient and client care
• Values teamwork and continued professional development

Referral or hospital experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
