Animal Trust Vets CIC is a not-for-profit, community interest veterinary organisation with a clear purpose: to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality veterinary care for pets and their owners. Any surplus we generate is reinvested into our people, equipment and services — never shareholders.
Our Ellesmere Port Pet A&E Hospital delivers emergency and out-of-hours care alongside referral-level surgical and diagnostic services, supporting both Animal Trust practices and external referring vets across the region. We are proud to work collaboratively with the wider veterinary community to ensure pets receive the care they need, when they need it.
The Role
We are looking for a highly organised and compassionate RVN – Referral Co-ordinator to join our team at Ellesmere Port. This role is central to the smooth running of our referral services, ensuring excellent communication and coordination between referring veterinary practices, internal clinical teams and pet owners.
You will play a key role in guiding cases through the referral pathway, supporting timely access to specialist surgical care while delivering a positive experience for both clients and referring vets.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the main point of contact for referral enquiries from veterinary practices and clients.
Coordinate referral cases, ensuring referral forms, clinical histories and diagnostics are complete and accurate.
Schedule referral appointments efficiently, prioritising urgent and time-sensitive cases where required.
Communicate clearly and professionally with referring vets, providing updates and outcomes as appropriate.
Support pet owners throughout the referral journey, answering questions with empathy and clarity.
Liaise closely with internal clinical and nursing teams to ensure seamless case progression.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records and contribute to continuous improvement of referral processes.
Support the wider client services team with insurance claim processing and debt management.
