The salary for this role is £50,311. Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working. 

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

As the Safety & Health Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in providing operational support in matters of industrial safety and health. 

Your primary focus will be to support the UKAEA's management of safety & health, focusing on supporting major projects. You will work closely with the heads of division and their Teams to drive a proactive culture.

This will suit a safety & health professional who is, or working towards chartered status and willing to challenge, mentor and support senior management in matters of safety & health.

 Additional Responsibilities

• Provide safety and health expertise to staff and contractors within the business area to ensure statutory compliance.
• Support the business through monitoring and measuring safety & health performance  and culture. recommending actions for improvement.
• With the relevant Head of Division conduct audits and inspections of the business areas.
• To manage the S&H incident reports relevant to Divisions, ensuring appropriate actions are assigned, cause analysis is completed and there is a validation of closure.
• To guide on S&H investigations including undertaking and completing Fact Finds and attending formal inquiries.

Essential Requirements:

• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
• Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards CMIOSH.
• Experience in the safety management of Construction (Design and Management) Projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships to be developed with people in a wide range of roles and levels of responsibility
• Experience in carrying out audits and investigations
