Job Description - Safety, Health & Environment Manager
Your new company We're looking for an experienced and passionate SHE Manager to join this well-known manufacturing business. You will join the site leadership team and play a pivotal role in creating a world-class safety, health and environmental culture.This is more than a compliance role - it's an opportunity to influence behaviour, drive change, and protect people and the environment while supporting high-performing operations. Your new role As SHE Manager, you'll lead all aspects of Safety, Health and Environmental performance on site. You'll act as the subject-matter expert, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and embedding a proactive, safety-first mindset across the organisation.
Ensure full compliance with UK SHE legislation and internal standards Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies Oversee environmental management, waste, and emergency preparedness Own and lead incident investigations using root cause analysis Drive corrective and preventative actions to reduce future risk Monitor and improve key SHE performance metrics (LTIFR, TRIR, etc.) Lead and deliver the site SHE strategy aligned with wider business goals. Champion a positive, proactive safety culture through visible leadership Influence and engage teams at all levels to drive accountability What you'll need to succeed You will have proven experience in a SHE role within manufacturing or operations. Strong knowledge of UK health, safety & environmental legislation. Experience in audits, risk management, and incident investigation. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Nebosh environmental and IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent). Lean manufacturing qualifications (six sigma).
