The role:  Development Executive (Sales Academy)

  • This position is for a sales focused candidate who is looking to forge a career as a future Sales Professional in Marsh. The Sales Academy is a structured 2 year programme, with successful candidates developing into a Junior Sales Professional on completion.

  • The academy will combine learning activities, prospect research, sales support and direct sales tasks over the programme, with structured training, mentoring and coaching alongside.

We will rely on you to:

The starting role will be a combination of:

  • Contact management
  • Prospect research and planning
  • Sector research and planning
  • Opportunity shadowing and contribution
  • CE/Tier two new business support
  • Learning – both technical and sales specific

The academy is a two year programme, with the finishing aims of:

  • Demonstrating significant progress towards ACII qualification (min Dip CII)
  • Learning from shadowing client renewals and new business opportunity
  • Appointment setting and financial contribution from contact management activity
  • A steer towards an industry focus to build a future specialism
  • Ability to progress into a Junior Sales Professional role – geography flexible

What you need to have: 

  • Sales drive, focus on results and financially driven
  • Business acumen and an understanding of the core mechanics of finance
  • Ideally, some experience of direct sales
  • Maturity and an ability to connect across multiple segments / demographics
  • Ambition, tenacity, confidence, ability to learn
