Sales Administrator – Temp to Perm

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: £13.25 per hour (in the region of £28,000 upon successful temp completion) 
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 0800 to 1700, Monday to Friday 

Vanta Staffing are currently recruiting for a Sales Administrator to join a successful and growing business based in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive and customer-focused individual to join the team on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

The Role

As a Sales Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the sales and branch operations, ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service. Working closely with the General Manager and Sales Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and customer service duties.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email and in person in a professional and timely manner.
Process customer orders, quotations, enquiries and returns accurately and efficiently.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively, escalating where appropriate.
Provide administrative support to the General Manager and wider branch team.
Assist with data entry, reporting and document management.
Support the branch with statutory, regulatory, Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate records and ensure information is kept up to date.
Assist with general sales and administrative duties as required by the General Manager and Sales Supervisor.
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.
About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and customer-focused, with a proactive approach to their work.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience within sales administration, office administration, customer service or a similar role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive approach and the ability to use your own initiative.
Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude.
A genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.
