Job Description - Sales & Technical Support Advisor

Sales & Technical Support Advisor

Location: Dorchester
Pay rate: £12.21 p/h + commission
Hours: Full-time | Mon-Fri, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (after training)
Contract: Temp to Perm, Perm

About the Role:

This is a hybrid role combining customer-facing showroom sales with technical support and logistics. You’ll assist customers in selecting the right equipment, handle service enquiries, and support the smooth coordination of parts and deliveries. If you enjoy varied work, have great people skills, and are confident with practical/mechanical tasks, this is an excellent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in the showroom, offering product demonstrations and guidance.
  • Handle inbound enquiries via phone, email, and website.
  • Service and assist with basic maintenance of mobility scooters and wheelchairs.
  • Deliver equipment to customers and assist with collections of service/repair items.
  • Identify and source spare parts using diagrams and manuals.
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, parts, and inventory.
  • Work closely with the service and warehouse teams to ensure timely fulfilment.
  • Keep the showroom and workspace clean and safety compliant.
  • Earn commission on in-store sales.

Key Requirements

  • Proven customer service experience, ideally in retail, technical, or service environments.
  • Basic technical/mechanical aptitude (e.g. tools, machinery, automotive, or similar).
  • Comfortable with computer systems, email, and order management tools.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Ability to work independently and use your initiative.
  • Physically fit enough to handle deliveries and product movement.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

  • Experience in a parts-based role (e.g., automotive, hardware, or mobility equipment).
  • Knowledge of inventory/stock management systems.
  • Familiarity with mobility/healthcare products.
  • Basic electrical or mechanical repair knowledge.
