Sales Engineer

Our client, a manufacturer of precision-engineered machining equipment and fabrication solutions are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team near Oxford.

Trading for over 40 years; with vast industry knowledge and a global distribution network spanning an array of highly reputable companies across a number of engineering industries.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering foundation, who enjoys customer interaction and has the confidence to represent high-spec technical products. A proactive approach to sales and new business development will be key to success.

Our client is seeking a technically minded Sales Engineer to support the Sales & Technical Manager in developing new and existing customer accounts across the UK. This role involves regular nationwide travel, starting in a defined region.

The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK but must be willing to travel to the Oxford office as required-particularly during the initial training period. Home working will be considered following probation.

• Deliver technical sales presentations and product demonstrations
• Provide expert support to customers and internal sales teams
• Answer engineering-related product queries and installation questions
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Negotiate pricing and manage the full sales process
• Support and train non-technical sales staff
• Achieve individual and team sales targets

• NVQ qualification in Engineering and/or Welding & Fabrication is desirable, but not essential - relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Strong technical understanding of engineering processes and applications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in technical sales or product support is preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Willing and able to travel across the UK, with occasional international travel if required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/CRM systems is desirable (training provided).
• Full UK driving licence (clean).

• Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on field service experience)
• Car Allowance: £5,000 per annum + mileage allowance
• Commission Scheme: Monthly commission (details to be discussed based on experience)
• Vacancy Type: Full-time, permanent, field-based role with nationwide travel
• Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00 / Friday: 08:30 - 16:00
