Location: Worcestershire (Hybrid - minimum 1 day per week in the office)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a growing engineering consultancy delivering high-value engineering services, technical consultancy, and outsourced development solutions into some of the UK's most innovative and technically demanding sectors. This is an opportunity to work with organisations developing cutting-edge technologies across aerospace, defence and space industries.

This role is focused on selling engineering services and project-based solutions, helping clients access specialist expertise in embedded software, firmware, electronics, and systems engineering to solve complex technical challenges.

The Opportunity

As a Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and managing the sales process from initial engagement through to contract award.

You'll work closely with engineering teams and senior decision-makers to understand customer requirements, shape service-based solutions, and deliver compelling technical and commercial proposals.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands consultative selling and enjoys engaging with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new business opportunities across target markets and sectors
Develop relationships with engineering leaders, programme managers, procurement teams, and senior stakeholders
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline against agreed targets
Lead customer discovery meetings and solution discussions
Translate customer challenges into tailored engineering service offerings
Own the creation of proposals, quotations, bids, and tender responses
Support project scoping, effort estimation, and delivery planning
Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions
Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities
Provide market intelligence and identify emerging growth opportunities

What We're Looking For

Essential

Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Experience in technical sales, business development, account management, engineering consultancy, or professional services sales
Proven track record of generating opportunities and delivering against revenue targets
Understanding of embedded software, firmware, electronics, or systems engineering environments
Experience producing technical and commercial proposals
Strong communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to convert customer requirements into commercially viable solutions
Full UK driving licence
Eligible to obtain SC Clearance

Desirable

Experience selling engineering consultancy, professional services, outsourced development, or project-based solutions
Exposure to aerospace, defence, space or other safety-critical sectors
Familiarity with regulated industries and technical procurement processes
Knowledge of high-integrity engineering standards and certification environments
