Job Description - Sales Executive

Sales Executive
Location: Baldock
Salary: £24,000 + Commission
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Sales Executive – About our client:
Join a well-established publishing and events company based in Baldock, specialising in the heritage, conservation, and historic buildings sector. With a loyal client base that includes national societies and niche associations, this business produces a wide range of specialist publications and organises respected industry events. They are now seeking a Sales Executive to focus on consultative, relationship-led advertising sales.

Sales Executive – Details:

  • Office-based role, 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday
  • 35-hour working week
  • 22 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Commission scheme
  • Friendly, close-knit team environment

Sales Executive – Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of existing advertisers
  • Proactively reach out to a database of potential advertisers
  • Advise clients on appropriate advertising options across multiple publications
  • Coordinate with the Production and Sales Admin Manager to meet publishing deadlines
  • Track competitor activity and support the development of new advertising leads
  • Support layout and content planning discussions where appropriate
  • Maintain a consultative sales approach tailored to each publication's niche audience
  • Contribute to revenue targets across a range of annual, quarterly, and biannual titles

Sales Executive – What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in sales, ideally in publishing or advertising
  • A relationship-driven sales style - this is not a cold-calling environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects
  • Confidence using CRM systems and general IT tools
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with team support
  • An interest in heritage, conservation, or architecture would be a bonus
