Job Description - Sales Ledger / Accounts Assistant

My client is a legal sector research, rankings, insights, and awards provider for law firms across the globe. As a result of a recent acquisition my client seeks a Sales Ledger/Accounts Assistant in a newly created role.

Due to this exciting change for the business there are a number of new roles created within the UK Head Office to base in London and this role is one of the new roles in this newly formed team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller this will be a critical role within the team. This role will suit someone who has at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role. This is an excellent role for someone looking to assist business growth and process alongside the growth.

Main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing the sales invoice process working with the Sales team to ensure client relationships are maintained to a high standard.
  • Invoice query management and resolution, liaising with internal and external parties.
  • Credit control, chasing remittances from customers, sending out statements.
  • Reporting debtor issues to management/sales team
  • Monitoring the accounts receivable to ensure that debtor days are kept to a minimum.
  • Accounts receivable ledger monthly reconciliations
  • Supporting the month end trail balance process
  • Other ad hoc project work as appropriate
  • Support other colleagues in Finance as appropriate.
  • Working on Quick books and Intacct

Qualifications/Experience needed:

  • Prior experience in an accounts team having worked with in Order to Cash/Sales Ledger in the past, assisting to trial balance.
  • Experience of dealing directly with clients and maintaining relationships while keeping debtors to a minimum
  • Prior experience of multiple currency ledgers preferable but not essential
  • Excellent people and relationship building skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with evolving technology platforms.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Experience of QuickBooks/Intacct an advantage but not essential
