Sales Ledger Assistant

An established company on the outskirts of Ipswich are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Ledger professional to join its finance team.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, this role plays a vital part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting cash flow, and ensuring excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Raise sales invoices and credit notes accurately and promptly
• Allocate customer payments and ensure account records remain clear and up to date
• Resolve customer queries efficiently and professionally
• Manage credit control and debt recovery processes
• Conduct credit checks and onboard new customers into the finance system
• Send customer statements and overdue payment reminders
• Reconcile the sales ledger to the general ledger monthly
• Maintain funding software and customer database accuracy
• Support wider finance tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Prior experience in a sales ledger or similar finance role
• Strong numeracy and excellent attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Motivated, organised and able to work independently
• A professional and positive approach with a willingness to learn
