Job Description - Sales Ledger Clerk

Marks Sattin are currently working with a global organisation based in Leeds to recruit a Sales Ledger Clerk on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong billing experience and a keen eye for detail to join a high-performing finance team in a dynamic and professional environment. The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in the Leeds office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review daily invoice pipeline reports and ensure timely posting and distribution of invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and SOX regulations.
  • Understand and adhere to client-specific invoicing requirements (e.g. PO numbers, references, backup documentation).
  • Manage access and usage of online billing portals.
  • Conduct compliance checks on invoices and approve or reject accordingly.
  • Maintain billing mailboxes and respond to queries promptly.
  • Support inter-company settlements, including reporting and discrepancy resolution.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and closing activities.
  • Process business group recharges and free-text invoice requests.
  • Provide training to local teams on AR billing functions as needed.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, professional finance environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data input.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised and able to manage time effectively.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Experience in people management is desirable.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
