Falcon Timber, part of Consolidated Timber Holdings (CTH) Ltd is a market leader supplying sustainable timber products to a broad range of customers, mainly in the construction, merchants and joinery markets across the UK and Ireland. We currently have over 300 employees operating out of 8 distribution depots, 3 manufacturing sites and our Head Office at the Port of Tilbury.

What is the main purpose of the role?
As a Sales Manager at Falcon Timber, part of the CTH Group, you will play a pivotal role in driving the sales strategy and the management and professional development of the team. You will develop and implement effective sales strategies, tracking and analysing sales performance metrics, to identify areas for improvement. This role will be based in our rapidly growing site in Avonmouth, Bristol and developing accounts in the South West.

What are the key areas of responsibility?
Help lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective sales targets, with the support of the Site Director.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to enhance the skills and performance of team members.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive business growth and expansion, working closely with the marketing and product teams.
Increase the number of active trading accounts, both personally and collectively as a team.
Help set clear objectives, KPIs, and targets for the sales team and monitor performance against these metrics in collaboration with the Site Director.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Development of existing and new key customer relationships

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the timber industry or a related field.
Well-developed leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing and developing sales teams.
Demonstrate an understanding of the technical specifications of timber products, or something similar.
Excellent problem solving skills, able to offer solutions to solve a customer’s challenges through a commercial lens.
Sound communication skills, able to form good connections with customers, peers and your team.
