Job Description - Sales Support Manager

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Sales Support Manager with energy/utilities experience to spearhead a 13-person-strong Sales Support team. This role is a fantastic chance to champion operational excellence and work collaboratively across various departments in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. The Sales Support Manager will play a pivotal role in refining processes, aiding the sales cycle, and serving as the primary link among commercial, operational, and customer-facing teams.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and enhance the development of the Sales Support team by establishing clear performance objectives and accountability measures.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer coaching, and facilitate personal development plans for team members.
  • Craft and execute strategies for team recruitment, training, and onboarding to handle diverse and seasonal demands effectively.
  • Cultivate an environment that encourages team development, cooperation, and ongoing learning.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify and rectify procedural inefficiencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate internal documents, including policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Offer robust support to Business Development Managers, Key Account Managers, and Third Party Intermediaries, ensuring efficient deal closures.
  • Oversee the comprehensive tender process for key customers, guaranteeing a smooth customer experience from start to finish.
  • Ensure the team adheres to both internal standards and external regulations, maintaining readiness for audits and accuracy in contracts.
  • Manage CRM systems to uphold high data integrity and reliable reporting of sales pipelines.
  • Analyse performance metrics to spot trends and provide insights that aid strategic decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing a sales support or similar team, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
  • A robust operational or customer service background, with a knack for managing complex stakeholder relationships in a dynamic setting.
  • Adept at leveraging data and analytical tools to drive decisions and identify operational insights.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems, with a preference for those familiar with credit processes and customer lifecycle management.
