About the Role

We're looking for a Salesforce Developer to join our Sales Enablement team. A cross-functional team that builds and runs the Salesforce platform and connected tooling that Zoopla's commercial teams work in.

It's a small team and you'd be one of two engineers in it, working alongside two admins, a product manager, a product owner, a commercial subject matter expert, a designer and an engineering manager. Small enough that what you build is visible, and that your view on how we build it carries weight. Our Salesforce org is a mature one, with over a decade of history and a lot of connected systems, so there's real scope to simplify and modernise as we go.

A big part of our roadmap over the next 6 to 12 months is rebuilding how we quote, price and package our products, and you'd be heavily involved. There's also a steady stream of improvements the rest of the business needs.

To be clear, this role is focused on improving how the platform works. User support and day-to-day configuration sit with our admin team, and you'd be the escalation point when something needs an engineer.

What You'll Do

• Designing and building solutions across the platform, declarative and coded, with LWC and Apex where code is the right answer.
• Designing and building integrations between Salesforce and the systems around it. That means thinking about what happens when they fail: retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and who owns which data.
• Owning the technical design on the projects you lead. Writing it down, making the case for it, and adapting it based on challenges.
• Sharing what you know with the rest of the team, engineers and admins alike. Pairing, walkthroughs, or writing things down, so knowledge doesn't end up sitting with one person.
• Taking a view on scale, security and observability before they become production problems.
• Working with our product manager, product owner and designer to turn what the business needs into something that works for the people using it.
• Untangling legacy where it's getting in the way, and improving the patterns and tooling the rest of the team builds on.

How We Work

Our engineers work alongside AI tooling every day. It writes a lot of the first draft, reviews changes and helps with testing. The engineering judgement doesn't move: you're accountable for what ships, whether you typed it or not. Reading code critically, spotting what's subtly wrong, and holding a line on design principles matter more here than typing speed.

We use AI where it makes us more effective, not for the sake of it, and like most companies we're still working out how AI best fits our development workflow. You'd have a real say in where it lands.

We don't have a dedicated tester, so we test and validate each other's work, with AI helping where it earns its place. It keeps the quality up, and it means nobody ends up as the only person who understands a piece of the system.

About You (Key Attributes)

• Strong Apex, SOQL and JavaScript, and LWC beyond the basics: composing components, managing state across them, and knowing when a screen doesn't need a custom component at all.
• Git and SFDX / SF CLI as your normal way of working. Our metadata lives in source control and we deploy from it.
• Real experience integrating Salesforce with systems outside it: REST APIs, Apex callouts, connected apps and platform events.
• Experience with a CPQ platform. Ours is Vlocity / OmniStudio, but we care much more that you've worked with quoting, pricing and product configuration than which tool you did it in.
• Experience designing and maintaining Salesforce data models that hold up as the business grows.
• A track record of improving something legacy. You've taken an old, tangled process and made it simpler without breaking things on the way through.
• You test properly, you work out the blast radius before changing something shared, and you can reason your way through code you didn't write.

Nice to Have

• Vlocity / OmniStudio, or Salesforce Industries more broadly.
• Workato, or similar integration platforms.
• Exposure to Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or similar agent tooling, in Salesforce or elsewhere.
• Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I certifications, or Platform Developer II.

Where you’ll be 

At Zoopla, we embrace hybrid working but emphasise the importance of also spending time together. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely (at home) for two days per week with Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays as all-Zoopla days in the office together. 

Our home in Tower Bridge is a buzzing hub for collaborative and individual working, with areas to socialise and exercise - within easy reach of London Bridge, Tower Hill and Bermondsey stations. On our doorstep there are plenty of great food spots including a new indoor street food market and landscaped areas to sit by the riverside.
